Design Parade Toulon 2017, alumni: 2 projects in the finals

2nd International Interior Design Parade

The jury gathered on March 16th and 17th at the Toulon Opera House selected 10 runner-up projects among 150 applications to feature this coming summer at the Fest in Toulon. Among them, a duo of designers composed of Mariam Bouchamane & Margot Cosyn, plus interior architect-object designer Emmanuelle Simon, all alumni of our School.

Last November, the Villa Noailles launched its call for applications for the Design Parade Toulon Competition. Junior applicants were expected to send a personal project of interior refurbishment and decoration before March 1st, 2017. Since 2016, the Villa Noailles has been committed to offering a new format to its festival dedicated to interior architecture and decoration. From now on, each summer, Design Parade Toulon will unfold over two components: a first component being dedicated to interior architecture and the second being dedicated to object design. Through this event, which is unprecedented in France, Design Parade Toulon features all aspects of decorative arts in contemporary design, over the course of a long weekend. Design Parade Toulon and Design Parade Hyères both ambition to discover, promote and support the young talents performing in all of these complementary domains and to feature, for the visitors and practitioners alike, the creative work of ambitious international designers through exhibitions and conferences. In order to chaperon these young talents, the festival approaches craftsmanship of excellence as much as it calls on the manufacturing realm, thanks to the partnerships developed through the previous and upcoming editions. This festival also offers an opportunity to know more about the rich cultural, decorative and architectural heritage of both towns, only a stone throw away from each other.

The ten designers selected for the final round will be gathered in Toulon on the occasion of the Festival. They will be invited to adapt their project to a building specifically dedicated. This building will be at their disposal for them to adapt their projects into it, thanks to the material support of the Festival’s partners. The jury will meet individually each of the ten designers in the course of the Festival. Once its decision is made, the Jury will award the Design Parade Grand Prize – Van Cleef & Arpels to the winning designer. Design Parade Toulon from June 29th to September 24th, 2017.
