Gabrielle El hani and Elodie Jochmans, 4th year students at the Camondo school, won 3rd prize in the Sessùn Craft Prize 2024 competition with their Atitlán project.

For the second year running, Sessùn organized the Sessùn Craft Prize, an international design competition open to all students and young professionals under the age of 35. For this 2024 edition, candidates were asked to imagine a very large-format suspension light that would illuminate and decorate the plenary room at Sessùn’s head office.

This project is a proposal for a return to our roots. A return to Sessun’s point of departure, Guatemala. The project is in line with the brand’s approach to promoting the cultural and artisanal heritage of this Central American country. Throughout the collections, the students spotted subtle references to Mayan know-how, and in turn drew inspiration from traditional ceramics dating back to pre-Columbian times.

The students imagined a hanging piece interweaving the clean lines of a wooden structure with the organic shapes of ceramic beads, inspired by traditional South American pottery.

Congratulations to the winners!
