The changing world of design, lecture by Philippe Costard

“The world is changing very quickly. We are used to reasoning in a linear way, by addition, however most economic and ecological changes happen exponentially. We must now learn to imagine the world of the next 20 years in this way. The world of the designer has completely changed in recent years. Not so long ago, designers mainly dealt with manufacturers and vendors. Now designers must add ecological, ethical, globalist and bio-technological dimensions.”
The design process is at the heart of hugely important issues: global economic development, transhumanism, artificial intelligence, robotics, 3D printing, new sales channels, and politics.

The aim of this talk is to explore likely scenarios (at the opposing ends of the spectrum) for the next 20 years.
